Flathead River Retreat

|
plains1.jpgThis is a prime survival property, 3 acres, 2700+ sq. ft. house. It is in the garden belt of Montana, where all melons, fruit trees and any and all garden crops will grow. We seldom have over a 1" to 2" of snow and it generally goes in a couple of days if we do get any. National forest is ½ mile to the south, Deer, elk, a few turkey's. A GOOD Survival Retreat The only reason I am interested in selling this approx. 3 +- acres , river view survival property, is that I am 85 years young, I have worked all my life, It's time to retire, and now I want to fish and hunt the remainder of my time.

$395,000

Plains2.jpgThe house was completed in June of 2001. The elevation at the house is about 2300 ft. The river views are to the west and north. The views of the Flathead River are one in a million and we are surrounded by mountains on all sides. The East and south side of the house are dug into the hillside and are buried almost to the roof, the balance of house has 24" wide planter of dirt and 12" decorative concrete block which come to the bottom of all the windows, as may be seen in the pictures. The house is protected from rifle fire to the height of the bottom of all the windows. The house is one level, with no steps, all entries are at ground level. The service entry is 8' ft x15' ft, joining a 5 ft wide by 76 ft long special interior storage are with five 2x10 shelves running the full 76 ft, what a dream storage area, cool in the summer and warm in the winter. All water lines are in this freeze proof area. Total house area is 2724 sq ft.

Heating is by wood, with back up Electric. Uses about 2½ cord a year. Kitchen has 23 pull out drawers under counter tops instead of shelves, 3 ovens, Space for a wood burning cook stove. The house is built into a ridge top with the East and South sides buried in the ground, the north end has the service entry, and the main entry is in the north side of the solarium. (See pictures.) The west side is windows, Solarium and a full length dirt filled planter, with decorative block facings. Again see pictures.

plains3.jpgThis home is not a Lloyd Wright design, but does blend in to the surrounding terrain and has a very unusual design and setting. Large Kitchen, Three bedrooms, walk in closet, Jacuzzi. Inside fire protection. A large wood storage closet, close to the stove. A 16 ft x 20 ft family room, 16 ft x 24 ft living room and a dinning room. All with wainscotings. Ceramic tile floors from entry to master bath. Carpet In balance of house. There is 600' ft of flat open ground, between the river and a good hill top lookout position, and another 200'ft of treed area to the house. If one wants to reach out and touch some one this open area is ideal. This can be a very secure area, but too much for me watch alone. The national forest is about ½ mile to the south.

plains4.jpgThis is a dream spot, I am asking $395,000. The closest town is Plains and has everything, including a very good hospital.

I am former Green Beret, Home builder, and a Christian Constitutionalist. I will be building a smaller home about 300 ft to the south as soon as I sell present home. If interested in this top survival spot, and yet not being totally isolated, contact me by email: freedom2005@blackfoot.net. I will get back to you ASAP.
