20 Acres Near Bear Lake (Idaho)

Property Image
A beautiful, remote setting in southern Idaho! This parcel is part of the Bear Lake Ranchettes which is a non-covenanted subdivision located just a few miles from Bear Lake. A spring exists down the hill on the neighbors property, but you would need to drill a well for water. There is no electricity. Only a few of the parcels in this area have homes (and they are mostly solar powered) so there is a lot of privacy. It is several miles from the nearest town and accessed by a dirt road. Winter conditons can be challenging - most years you will need a tractor to clear the roads within about 1-2 miles of the property, or use a snowmachine to get in and out. Foliage is very heavy and includes pine trees and quaking aspens on the outskirts of the parcel which is fenced on 2 1/2 sides. The Caribou National Forest is just to the west, though not adjacent, which allows for some great recreation and spectacular views. This lot is on a hill that also includes a view of Bear Lake.

Go West about 3 miles on Hwy 36. Take a right turn (north) near mile marker 31, after the brick house with a brown roof. (This is called Brown Road or Sharron Loop Rd, but it is not labeled) If you pass the town of Liberty, you've gone too far. Go 2.9 miles and you will see some dumpsters - go to the right, onto North Canyon Rd (it is a dirt road, also unlabeled) and it will continue north. Go 2.9 miles and take a left after a brown house. There should be a sign that says 'McCallister', and also we posted a for sale sign at this entrance, it may or may not still be there. On this road, continue through the trees and up a hill - we've also posted a for sale sign where the lot begins. There is fence 1/2 to 3/4 around the perimeter of the property, so you should be able to plot it out once you're up there. Be sure to print out the pictures and GoogleEarth images to take with you, and you should get a good idea of the property.

The approximate center point of the lot is:
42.23.18.439 N
111.27.31.544 W
