The “Farm” is a one of a kind, unique idea located in the Western Mountains of North Carolina. The community sits on a ridge overlooking the Leatherwood Farm which has been family run for over 175 years. With 16 acres and only 10 home sites available, The Farm is customized for those looking for true community in all senses of the word. The Farm is located in the Jonathan Creek Community of Haywood County, NC. The population of Haywood County is roughly 59,000.
The Pigeon River originates in Haywood County. It is the only county east of the Rockies that ALL water flows out while none flows in.
Haywood County is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, namely the Great Smoky Mountains in the west and the Plott Balsams and Great Balsam Mountains in the south. Mt. Guyot, the county's highest point at 6,621 feet,is the 4th highest mountain east of the Mississippi River. Black Balsam Knob, in the Great Balsam Mountains, is the highest grassy bald in the entire Appalachian range.
