Off-grid haven in Canada, British Columbia, in the rugged and beautiful West Chilcotin, the central interior of British Columbia.
The Ranch is situated besides the breathtaking Itcha & Ilgachuz Mountains and along the historic Dean River on 1428 acres of pristine land, of which 1200 acres are arable, great for potential hay production and the remainder rich grazing pasture, interspersed with plenty of crown woodland.
The nearest small community is located 25 miles northwest, Anahim Lake, which has a handful of grocery stores, propane and fuel, as well as a small airport with regular flights to Vancouver, BC. There are no intermediate neighbours, the nearest occasional neighbour is a 20 minute drive northwest.
Hwy 20 connects Anahim Lake to Bella Coola to the west, and Williams Lake east.
Williams Lake is a 225 mile drive from the Ranch, a great place for all supply needs.
The Ranch includes two complete off-grid properties that are fully set up with Solar Energy and have generators for back-up. The two Ranching properties are approximately 5 miles apart from each other, both offering total privacy and seclusion, and each property has a large workshop and fuel tanks on the property. This main house was build in 1998 by a German and boasts impeccable construction and craftsmanship, 2500 sq.ft. spread out on two levels, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, open living space with a kitchen and vaulted ceilings, a wood stove in the main living area and big double glazed windows offering panoramic views over the Itcha Ilgachuz Mountain range.
In addition there is plenty of storage and utility space, with a large outside wrap-around-deck.
The house is solar powered with a generator for back up, and tiled throughout with in-floor heating and optional wood heating.
There is no shortage of firewood supply in close vicinity. On this property there is a large workshop, heavy machinery shelter and an open barn steel structure that could be further developed, as well as a chicken coop with a fenced off area for the chickens.
The second property is situated just by the Dean River, overlooking lakes and pastures with spectacular views over the iconic Anahim Peak.
There are numerous corrals set up and ready to use for cattle or horses. The house is split on two levels with a garage and 2500 sq.ft. of living space.
The interior is partially finished and needs some renovation, with the potential of accommodating 5-bedrooms and 3-bathrooms. Each level has a wood stove in the primary living area. There are several woodsheds, a large barn, a large shop with concrete flooring and a small cabin on the property.
Both properties feature year round creeks which run through, offering unlimited fishing right in your own backyard. Deep wells supply each property with fresh, unlimited water of superior drinking quality, completely free of toxins and chemicals.
The entire area is drought safe with water in abundance.
There is ample opportunity to built, extent or expand on existing structures, and plenty of space for future greenhouses.
Currently this ranch is running 200 head of cattle with an additional 1500 acres being leased from neighbouring properties. This is a great location to live off-grid, undisturbed and be self-sufficient. Lots of opportunities to fish and hunt. Besides ranching cattle a person would also do well with sheep or other livestock around here.
A must see to fully appreciate all the amazing features those properties have to offer, the ultimate off-grid paradise in one of the most stunning natural settings in Western Canada.
The possibilities are endless as what one can do with this offer, it could easily even accommodate two families at least.
