The property is located on 28.56 acres between Bridger and Belfry, Montana. The views are far and reaching from the plains to the mountains. Looking west in the distance are the Beartooths and looking east are the Pryor Mountains. As you are sitting on the front porch it is simply breathtaking of that big, Montana, blue sky.
Electricity for the home is generated primarily by the solar panels and/or wind turbine, with the natural gas generator used as a backup system. It works very well, and will provide you with power even when the grid is down. The home originally had 32 80 watt panels with its own controller when we bought it. I have added 10 330 watt panels with its own controller. The system has a 2 year old forklift battery for storage of electricity. Many sources say a forklift battery used for solar energy can last 20 years.
