1300 sq ft(approx) cabin located in the high sierras mountains near Bass Lake, Ca. This cabin was originally built in the mid 1950’s but was remodeled in 2011. There is 1 bedroom and 1 large sleeping loft. The loft sleeps 8 people. There are 2 bathrooms, one off the bedroom and 1 in the loft. The cabin has a beautiful river rock fireplace which was refaced during the remodel. There is also a laundry room. Hot water comes from a tankless water heater and heat comes from a propane wall heater with fan. There was a new septic system installed in 2011 as well. Power for the cabin comes from a generator with 2 different hookup locations. The cabin comes partially furnished. All loft beds and bedding are included along with the propane stove and fridge. The armoire in the laundry room is also included. The dining table is negotiable. There is plenty of storage in the cabin.
The cabin is located in the Beasore Meadows Subdivision which is a small community of seasonal cabins developed in the 1930’s. Water is supplied by a spring fed and gravity fed community mutual water system. The water system is shut down during the winter from approximately November to mid to late May. There is also a 900 gallon underground water tank with a grundfos submersible pump which I used during the winter months.
This is a seasonal access cabin. The roads are not plowed during the winter months. The winter access is by snow machine only. This is an off grid cabin so there is no electricity or phone service available. You can however get satellite internet and tv.
The cabin sits in the middle of National Forest Service property and backs up to it on the west side. The property is approx 3/4th acre situated on 3 lots. There are approximately 70 cabins in the subdivision but most are seldom used. On a busy holiday weekend like the 4th of July there may be 20 cabins occupied. There is 1 full time resident. There are quite a few cabins that have not been used in many years. The one closest to my cabin has been used 2 times in the last 8 years. Its a very quiet area with like minded people who love the peace and quiet of the High Sierra Mountains while being far away from the busyness of life.
There is also a small garage/shed approx 16’x14′. It is big enough to get my Jeep Wrangler into it.
The recreational opportunities are endless. There are many backpacking/hiking trails, high Sierra lakes steams and rivers for fishing, boating, kayaking etc. Atv trails are close by and it is a great area for hunting. There is a small general store about 1 mile from the cabin which is open from about June to Oct.
Because of the fact that tis is an off grid seasonal access cabin, there are no banks I have found that will fund a loan on it. I can carry a note on the property with 20% down. Terms and rates are negotiable. I will offer a substantial discount on the cabin if I am cashed out. I would consider a vehicle, RV, boat or ???? as part trade. I do not want any property in trade unless it is in Montana or Idaho.
