History of Richards/Denton family home:

1987 – Original house was built by Denton’s for Richards’ family to relocate from California to TN., on original 15 acres, 330 Joann Road, Somerville, TN. Now referred to as the in-law house, it has 800 , 1B/1B with living room, dining room and kitchen and a 220 sf enclosed breezeway and private entrance. Vinyl floors, one surface, no thresholds.

1989 – Permit was pulled, by Richards’, for the main house of 2200 sq. ft., 3b/3b (large dining room), a 2000 sq. ft. dry walk out basement (solid concrete walls, never leaked) and a 1000 sq. ft., 3-car garage that included shop space. House is energy efficient with Hurd double-paned windows. Low utility bills, well water & septic. All electrical wiring was completed and inspected within 1 year, per Fayette County construction code at that time. House shell was ‘weathered in’ and secured but inside was not completed. 5 rooms have vaulted ceilings. Beautiful pine floors throughout entire family house, no thresholds. All exterior walls and roof are Structural Insulated Panels. Low maintenance with Alcoa siding, no painting ever. Detached and wired 24×24 metal workshop and tractor barn covered stall was added.

1997 – 10 acres, across back of property, were sold to next door neighbor for their horses to have extra grazing land.
