This 3,608 SF property includes 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (1 of each is located downstairs), a wraparound deck and an attached 3 car garage. The main floor includes the mud/laundry room, two bedrooms, a bathroom, dining room, kitchen, living room and master suite. The living room, kitchen and dining room are spacious and have an open concept to them. The wood burning fireplace in the living room is the focal point of the house, the concrete backing is made to look like stone and were handmade and placed. This is the perfect spot to watch a snowstorm roll in. Hardwood floors were installed throughout the main floor in 2019. Kitchen counters, sink and backsplash were updated in 2019 with granite which includes a living edge. The master suite includes a connected bathroom, closet and it’s own walk-out to the deck. The master bathroom was fully remodeled in 2017 and includes Italian tile, a custom acid-dipped double vanity with granite countertop, a spacious roman tub and a smooth rock-bottom shower. The wrap around deck is a perfect for any weather as there is always a portion available to get out of the wind/sun. Looking East from the deck as a storm rolls in truly breathtaking and the perfect location to see some of the most beautiful rainbows.
The walk-out basement, while finished has been used as additional storage space and is currently not carpeted. The property was built in 2006 and is situated on 10.01 acres. The house was re-sided and painted in 11/2024.
Outside, the property includes a large garden (1,600 SF), chicken run (1,828 SF) and small barn that was initially used for goats and is now utilized as the chicken coop (236 SF). The garden is fenced with 8-foot fencing and has telephone poles with heavy-duty steel cable surrounding the perimeter of the garden. This allows the owner to hang shade cloth – making it more enjoyable for the owner and the plants. Extensive measures have been taken for protecting the chickens, to include rebar buried in concrete surrounding the outer perimeter of the chicken run and outer fenced-in pen (so basically anywhere the chickens can get to, they are protected). The barn is set up to run power and propane and opens to an outer fenced-in pen (940 SF) and into the chicken coop. It can be segregated through an inner door if needed for separate animals, or you can keep it open for a larger chicken pen. Currently the back side is being utilized as additional garden space. There are three separate waterspouts for each of the three sections. The property also includes a shooting range and seasonal ‘pond’ that was created by the Army Corps of Engineers. Wildlife consists of numerous birds and deer that like to bed down at night in the cottonwoods.
The property is on septic and well (in the lower dawson). The well pump was replaced in 9/2024 to install a soft-start pump specifically designed to work with solar for off-grid situations. The well feeds a buried 1,600-gallon cistern and has had a Simple Pump installed in the well casing. The property is connected to grid power as well as equipped with a SolArk solar system (12Kw EMP hardened system with 16, 320-watt panels. Battery bank consists of 8 Rolls Deep Cycle Series 5000 batteries). The house can be powered, and the battery bank can be charged from the grid, the solar panels or a 22Kw Generac generator (propane) that is integrated into the SolArk which is set up to be turned on and off automatically. The generator is tied into the house’s buried two 1,000-gallon propane tanks. The house, SolArk and generator are all EMP hardened with EMP Shield. There is also an underground 1,000-gallon fuel tank that can be used to store diesel or gas, currently being used to store diesel.
Now for the selling point! The house has access through the basement to a commercially produced and installed 10’ x 50’ Rising S bunker. It is made out of quarter-inch steel with a steel exoskeleton that was coated with a 150-year marine protective coating. It was then encased in approximately 12” of concrete. The bunker includes a restaurant styled sink, shower, hot water heater, and toilet with running water. The bunker is plumbed into the house septic system and propane lines. It’s outer door is made to look like a safe and enters into a slight hallway before reaching the main 1/2” AR550 security door. This bunker is equipped with an NBC (Nuclear Biological Chemical) air filtration system. Air in and out of the bunker is completely independent of the house and includes two blast and two ball valves. From inside the bunker the owner has access to the internet as well as to the property’s WYZE camera security system (14 cameras that completely encompass the property) through StarLink.
While this may all seem a little daunting, the house and bunker are designed to be as hands-on, or completely autonomous – it’s all up to your preference! Giving the future owner peace of mind.
Asking $850,000 for the house alone. The bunker and infrastructure are estimated around $250,000, for a total price of $1,100,000. We have a VA assumable mortgage (approximately $415,000) and are willing to negotiate, but please, this is a serious property for like-minded serious buyers. We are certain there will be questions, so please, if interested reach out to Sam at 303-956-3207.
**Please note, the map location is the middle of Elbert County and is NOT this location. This is for our and the new buyers’ security. After a vetting process, a site visit can be arranged. **
